This tree finds its home in Charleston, South Carolina, and is estimated to be around five hundred years old. My fascination with this subject matter stems from its history - cultural change has swirled under its branches; innumerable transformations have taken place in its time, yet it still stands today, endlessly performing the same perfect duty, evermore connecting the Earth and the heavens. There is something truly beautiful about that.
